A BLADE FROM A FRENCH LOUIS XV SABRE, circa 1760, with curved profile, 34in. not including tang, broad full becoming two separate fullers after about one third of its length, the blade inscribed near tang on both sides 'HANNEL' above a stylised depiction of the King above the triple 'fleur-d lys' armorial of Louis XV above 'VIVE LOUIS XV ROY DE FRANCE' and 'MARQ LA FORTUNE', the tang deeply struck with a maker's mark 'H.L. with a figure in an oval, (some staining and mild edge loss)
